The Spanish labor market gained an average of 97,004 affiliates to Social Security in February, which represents a new advance in employment after the start of the year. According to the data, the increase was mainly driven by the services sector, in a context of activity recovery after the Christmas campaign and the start of the tourist season in some areas.
In parallel, registered unemployment increased by 3,584 people compared to the previous month, a moderate rebound that contrasts with the good performance of affiliation. Despite this increase, the total volume of unemployed people remains at lower levels than in previous years, consolidating a trend of employment stability within the Spanish labor market.
