This Sunday, elections were held in Colombia, in which lawyer and businessman Abelardo de la Espriella was proclaimed president of the country after winning the second electoral round against Iván Cepeda, of the Historical Pact. According to bulletin number 17 of the scrutiny issued by the National Civil Registry, De la Espriella obtained 49.66% of the votes, while Cepeda achieved 48.69%.
In this regard, the president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has joined the congratulations of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, and the president of Argentina, Javier Milei, and, through his X account, has written: "My congratulations to Abelardo de la Espriella for his triumph. Good news for Colombia and for all of Hispanic America."
Likewise, the leader of the main opposition party in Spain has ended his message on the social network: "I wish him success in the challenges ahead and success in the task of improving the lives of all Colombians."

Le deseo acierto en los retos que tiene por delante y éxito en la tarea de mejorar la vida de todos los colombianos.
"He won, GREAT!" the American president affirmed on his Truth Social account. "Today the majority of Colombians chose the path of economic freedom, prosperity, relentless security and saying ENOUGH to transnational organized crime and drug trafficking," the Argentine president wrote in a message that he concluded with his mythical phrase: "LONG LIVE FREEDOM DAMN IT...!!!"

Felicito enormemente a @ABDELAESPRIELLA por su histórica victoria en Colombia.
Hoy la mayoría de los colombianos eligieron el camino de la libertad económica, la prosperidad, la seguridad implacable y decirle BASTA al crimen…
