Feijóo returns to Ceuta for the fourth time and takes the migratory crisis to Europe with the EPP: "Negligence demands accountability"

The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, will return to Ceuta next Monday, September 21, in what will be his fourth visit to the autonomous city since the massive entry of migrants recorded at the end of July. The popular leader will be accompanied by prominent representatives of the European People's Party (EPP) with the aim of conveying the situation to the community sphere and "Europeanizing the problem."

The opposition leader will travel to the city with the president of the EPP, Manfred Weber, and the general secretary of this party and MEP for the PP, Dolors Montserrat. Feijóo had already held contacts with the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, after the massive entry of migrants.

Monday's visit will be Feijóo's fourth to Ceuta since the events of July 30 and 31. The president of the PP traveled to the city for the first time shortly after the massive arrival, returned in mid-August, and came back at the beginning of September to accompany the president of Ceuta, Juan Jesús Vivas.

The PP wants to take the Ceuta crisis to Europe 

The new visit also comes on the eve of a specific debate on the situation in Ceuta in the European Parliament. The national spokesperson for the PP, Borja Sémper, has taken advantage of this context to denounce the situation of insecurity that, in his opinion, continues to affect Ceutans 46 days after the massive entry of more than 70,000 irregular migrants.

Sémper has assured that his party will not remain with "arms crossed in the face of so much injustice" and has insisted on demanding accountability for the management of the crisis. "We believe that negligence demands accountability, and I insist, we are not going to stop," he stated.

The popular leader has emphasized the debate that will take place this week in the European Parliament and has defended the need to place the Ceuta crisis on the European agenda. "We are going to Europeanize the problem. Ceuta is Europe, as we have insisted on many occasions and it is an obvious fact. And this week will be Ceuta's week in Europe," he proclaimed.

Along these lines, Sémper explained that the PP intends for community institutions to "look at Ceuta, to understand and accept the dimension of what happened" and "get involved."
