The general secretary of Junts, Jordi Turull, defended this Sunday that his party is in favor of "stopping" vulture funds, although he asked the Government not to mix the housing decree with other measures that, in his opinion, end up criminalizing small property owners, something that, he recalled, already happened with the omnibus decree related to pensions.
"The Government knows it. If they want to mix things, they will not have our vote. And I believe that all parties here must make an effort," said Jordi Turull in statements to the media, made at the Campas de Foronda, in Vitoria-Gasteiz, where he participated in the Alderdi-Eguna of the PNV.
In that context, the leader of Junts has maintained that it is necessary to "get out of the ideological trench" to adopt decisions that favor citizens, and has insisted that the party defends a "short and forceful" regulation, aimed not only at stopping vulture funds, but also at promoting tax incentives for owners and tenants.
Criticism of political agitation and the tweet strategy
"Stopping, I insist, vulture funds, because they have the social sensitivity of a steamroller and incentives for people to have legal certainty and see facilities in that to put flats up for rent. These are measures, they are very clear, the Government has them and I believe that the PSOE agrees on this," added Turull.
In parallel, he regretted that there are parties that, in his opinion, prefer "agitation, tweets and 'likes'" to attack the problem and magnify it, instead of seeking agreements that allow progress in a more precise regulation on housing.
