The King Felipe VI has made a call for “the utmost moderation in the use of force” in Oriente Próximo and has stressed the need to protect the civilian population and opt for a diplomatic path that allows abandoning the current logic of confrontation.
The monarch has spoken in these terms this Sunday, during his speech at the official dinner of the Mobile World Congress (MWC), which is held from this Monday until Thursday at the Gran Via venue of the Fira de Barcelona, located in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat.
In a speech that has combined Castilian, Catalan and English, the King has reiterated this call “to prevent a chaotic situation and total repression” and has insisted on the urgency of recovering dialogue as an essential step to achieve peace.

Also attending the dinner were the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez; the President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa; the Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni; and the Director General of the GSMA, Vivek Badrinath.
During his speech, Felipe VI has warned that the Middle East is heading towards a “critical juncture”, with an evident risk of regional escalation and consequences that he has described as unpredictable.
Likewise, he has recalled that, when the war broke out in Ukraine, he already defended the principles of peace, dialogue and cooperation, and has regretted that, four years after "the beginning of Putin's aggression", there is still no clear horizon to put an end to the conflict.
