Más Madrid has demanded this Friday from the PSOE to exercise “all the levers it has as the majority partner of the Government” to pressure Junts and make “the cost of overturning the decrees unbearable”, as reported to Europa Press from the party.
The party believes that the Congress of Deputies must “respond to the clamor of the street” and validate the two royal decrees approved by the central Executive this Tuesday, measures on Housing that have been promoted after the eviction of Maricarmen in Retiro and the protests that have led to the encampment in Puerta del Sol, promoted by the Tenants' Union.
“We do not give any vote up for lost until it is held”
From Más Madrid they have stressed that they do not give “any vote up for lost until it is held”, although they have warned that the Government of Spain “cannot allow itself to be blackmailed by the Catalan right” and, in their opinion, “it does well not to withdraw absolutely anything”.
The leadership of Junts decided last night to overturn both decrees, although this morning it stated that it would present its own housing proposal to the PSOE during this Friday.
“With the vultures or the right to housing”
The regionalist party, integrated into Sumar in the Congress, maintains that the Executive's commitment must be “with the vultures or the right to housing” and “to the ultimate consequences”.
Furthermore, it understands that there is a “social majority on the street waiting for strong measures in favor of the right to housing” and that, if nothing is finally approved, it will be necessary to “clearly point out the culprits” and “force them to pay the full social and electoral cost of going against youth, against the right to housing and against the social majority”.
