A military aircraft of the Air Force landed this Wednesday at the Torrejón de Ardoz Air Base with 171 Spanish citizens repatriated from Oman. The operation was organized by the Spanish Government to facilitate the return of nationals who were in the area due to the deteriorating security situation in the Middle East.
The flight departed from Omani territory after an operation coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation together with the Ministry of Defense. The operation sought to guarantee a safe transfer for Spanish citizens who had requested assistance to leave the region.
Upon their arrival in Madrid, the repatriated individuals were received by diplomatic staff and support teams ready to assist them after the journey. The Executive highlighted the rapid institutional coordination that has allowed completing the evacuation and facilitating the safe return of the Spaniards.
