The Minister of Equality, Ana Redondo, has publicly praised the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, whom she has defined as a “superhero” in defense of democracy, peace, and rights, during a political event held in Soria.
The meeting, organized in the Palace of the Audience of Soria, was part of the campaign for the regional elections on March 15 in Castile and Leon and was focused on equality policies. Also participating in the event were Sánchez himself and the socialist candidate for the Presidency of the Junta, Carlos Martínez, before an audience of about 500 people.
During her speech, Redondo vindicated the leadership of the head of the Executive and affirmed that “he is a superhero of democracy, of peace, of dignity, of rights and of feminism”. The minister also linked that defense of values with the Government's stance on the conflict in Iran, insisting on the message of “no to war”.
In his speech he also maintained that “70 percent of Spanish citizens do not want war” and assured that “in the world they want Sánchez because he represents human dignity, democracy, peace, and civilization”. After these words, part of the audience responded by chanting “No to war!”.
Redondo took advantage of the intervention to contrast the current situation with previous government stages. “Today fortunately Pedro Sánchez governs and that is the big difference with the past, that we socialists govern. That is the big difference with that past that we do not want to live again”, he affirmed. He also criticized the long political period lived in Castilla y León, pointing out that “the past in Castilla y León has already been too long and intense”.
