During an interview granted this Monday on 'Hoy por Hoy', a program on Cadena SER, the First Vice President of the Government, Maria Jesús Montero, explained that the professional profile of the former president of SEPI, Vicente Fernández, was one of the reasons why he generated trust. "Quite the opposite, he was number one in his class, a lawyer for the body of lawyers of the Junta de Andalucía, he has been an auditor for the Junta de Andalucía; of course, his resume accompanied him," she stated.

In that sense, Montero stressed that the investigations refer to events that, as she indicated, occurred "two years after he left SEPI", while considering that the judicial orders known so far are "quite clear, quite forceful".

The vice president also showed her support for the current president of SEPI, Belén Gualda, whose "professionalism and values" she highlighted, and assured that she was unaware of any possible irregularity related to the environment of Leire Díez and Vicente Fernández. "Anyone who knows me knows that I immediately get to work to find out if something is happening," she affirmed. Regarding the rescue of Plus Ultra, Montero defended that the administrative file "is well prepared" and maintained that any individual action does not alter the validity of the procedure followed by the Administration.

Likewise, the socialist leader reiterated her support for the continuity of the legislature and insisted that the Executive will continue working to regain the trust of the parliamentary groups.
