The Socialist Party has shown this Wednesday its full confidence in former Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero before his public appearance, in which he is expected to give explanations about the doubts that have arisen regarding his situation.

The PSOE spokesperson, Montse Mínguez, has assured that there is a conviction in the party that Zapatero “is going to give all the explanations” and that “he is going to clarify all doubts and questions,” while emphasizing that the PSOE “faces up, trusts in justice and asks citizens to respect the presumption of innocence.”

“Today we are facing what we were waiting for, that President Zapatero is going to give all the explanations. He is going to clarify all doubts and questions and, evidently, we trust in his statement,” said Mínguez, who insisted that the party will remain attentive to his intervention.

In this context, the socialist leader has defended that “in the Socialist Party we face up, we trust in justice and we ask citizens to respect the presumption of innocence,” in a statement with which the party seeks to close ranks around the former president while awaiting his explanations.
