Nogueras places Sánchez before a "double responsibility" in the Ceuta crisis and points out that he has "lost the ability to provide answers"

Míriam Nogueras has used her intervention in Congress to lash out against Pedro Sánchez over a dilemma that, in her opinion, is equally serious. The Junts spokesperson has argued that the Government has lost the ability to offer answers and has warned that maintaining power at any cost can end up favoring the far-right.

"Catalonia does not need more lessons from anyone," Nogueras reproached the president. In her opinion, what the community needs are "results," after, as she denounced, "the mismanagement of Sánchez and Illa is being paid for by Catalans." In this sense, she attacked the Executive's economic discourse: "While you boast about the Spanish economic miracle, what is a miracle is that Catalans can survive despite being more and more suffocated by you every day. In fact, the true miracle is that the streets of Catalonia are not burning."

Nogueras places Sánchez before a "double" responsibility

The Junts leader has also focused a good part of her intervention on the management of warnings related to the migratory crisis in Ceuta. Nogueras has demanded that citizens be told "the truth" and has put forward two scenarios that, from her point of view, leave the president in an unsustainable position.

"Either you knew about the warnings and you lie to the people to protect Morocco, or you didn't know about the warnings and you lie when you say you have control of the government and national security. Both options disqualify you from continuing to govern," she stated.

The Junts spokesperson has extended her criticisms to the socialist management and has accused the PSOE of having crossed "all lines" with its "incapacity." She has also questioned some decisions on migratory matters, among them the regularization of migrants, which she criticized for being done "without criteria," and has demanded greater powers for Catalonia.

Economy and migration, the powers Junts demands

Nogueras has defended that Catalonia must assume powers in areas such as economy and migration. "This is not a matter of right or left, it is about voting on whether Catalonia should have the same powers as Madrid. We believe so, because otherwise in Catalonia we cannot have control, order, Catalan, or work," she pointed out.

The Junts spokesperson has also questioned whether Catalonia has to bear the consequences of decisions made by the central government. Regarding reception, she stated that the community "cannot host more", linking this position to the demand for greater decision-making capacity over migration policies.

And she reserved one of her most forceful warnings for Sánchez and the PSOE: if the president "clings to power for power," she said, both he and the socialists and their partners will end up being "the culprits of the arrival of the far right." According to Nogueras, the Executive "lost its majority in this Chamber a long time ago, but also the trust of the places" and has lost "the capacity to provide answers."
