The PSOE spokesperson in Congress, Patxi López, defended this Saturday José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero after the dissemination of the UDEF reports related to the so-called ‘Plus Ultra case’. During a PSC event held in Granollers, López asked for “proof” before giving credibility to the accusations affecting the former socialist president.
“Zapatero plot and very few Zapatero conversations; very few meetings”, affirmed the socialist leader before the media, in reference to the content of the police investigations known in recent days. López also insisted that the PSOE expects Justice to act “as it should”, investigating the facts and providing conclusive proof before drawing political conclusions.
The parliamentary spokesperson's statements come amid a full closing of ranks of the PSOE with Zapatero, while from the socialist circles they try to reduce the political impact of the police reports and convey that, for the moment, the accusations are based solely on indications and indirect testimonies.
