A plane from Venezuela will arrive in Spain this Tuesday with 59 Spaniards on board after the earthquakes

From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the call to Spanish citizens in Venezuela to use the enabled emergency channels is maintained

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and European Union, José Manuel Albares, attended 'Las mañanas de RNE' this Tuesday where he reported that a flight from Venezuela is expected to arrive today at Madrid's Adolfo Suárez airport, carrying 78 people, of whom 59 are Spanish. 

Minister Albares recalled on RNE the work of Spanish health workers who are providing humanitarian and health aid after the earthquakes that have shaken the country and stated that Spain will be present in the reconstruction of Venezuela. However, regarding finding people alive, he regretted that it "is starting to be difficult" but that there is "hope". 

According to the latest data reported, the official balance of the consequences of the double earthquake has raised the number of fatalities to more than 3,000 and the number of injured to 16,740, while emergency teams continue search and rescue efforts among the collapsed buildings.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, has reported the balance of Spanish citizens affected by the double earthquake recorded in Venezuela. According to the latest data provided by the Government, the number of fatalities now stands at 35, while 140 remain missing and another 11 have been located under the rubble

The Venezuelan government of Delcy Rodríguez estimates that the cost of reconstruction will exceed 6.7 billion dollars.

Consular emergency lines remain activated

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to call on Spanish citizens in Venezuela to use the enabled emergency channels. The department reminds that all consular assistance lines remain operational and that updated information can be consulted through the official profiles of the ministry and the Spanish Embassy in Caracas.
