The leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, guaranteed this Sunday that his party will reach agreements with the PP in Extremadura, Aragon and Castile and Leon, although he stressed that his party will prioritize negotiating “concrete measures” over the distribution of positions in governments.

“Starting tomorrow, three Spanish regions urgently await a change of course, and they are going to have it, we can guarantee it, but do not talk to us and do not ask us about the armchairs, the government posts or political narratives,” Abascal has stated in a brief assessment of the election results in Castile and León.

The leader of Vox has insisted that his party will focus the conversations on “concrete measures”, addressing them “measure by measure” and establishing “compliance deadlines” with the aim of guaranteeing that the vote of citizens in Extremadura, Aragon and Castile and Leon “is respected”. In this regard, he has warned that Vox will be “implacable” in the defense of the general interest and of Spaniards.

In relation to the election results, Abascal has highlighted the party's increase in votes, percentage, and number of representatives, emphasizing that this is the third consecutive electoral process in which Vox registers an increase. In Castilla y León, the party has obtained 14 representatives, one more than in 2022, and has gone from 17.6% to 18.8% of the votes, its best percentage to date. “It is demonstrated that, despite the innumerable and constant attempts, there is no ceiling for Vox,” Abascal concluded.

The negotiations between Vox and the PP in Extremadura and Aragon developed in parallel to the election campaign in Castilla y León and until now had not registered advances. Both formations had already governed in coalition in these three communities, although the executives broke up in 2024 due to discrepancies regarding the reception of unaccompanied migrant minors.
