The leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, pledged this Saturday to promote a "total cleanup" in institutions if he manages to reach the Government of Spain. During the traditional PP pilgrimage in O Pino (A Coruña), Feijóo defended the need for a "serene, honest, profound, and orderly" political change after the period of Pedro Sánchez.

The president of the PP stated that, although he does not know when this handover will occur, he is convinced that Spain will have a Government "worthy of the Spanish people." In this regard, he promised that the change will be complete and that he will not leave "a rug unturned, a drawer closed, or a hiding place undiscovered."

Feijóo structured his speech around several commitments, including equality between territories, a new regional financing system, and a profound political regeneration. He criticized the Executive for, he said, discriminating against autonomous communities governed by the PP and using institutions for partisan purposes.

The popular leader also attacked former president José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, whom he defined as "Pedro Sánchez's crown jewel." He also accused the PSOE of having deteriorated bodies such as the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Civil Guard, and other state institutions, relying on judicial investigations affecting socialist leaders.

In one of the toughest moments of his speech, Feijóo assured that neither Koldo García, nor Leire Díez, nor Santos Cerdán, nor José Luis Ábalos, nor Pedro Sánchez himself will remain on the political front line after a possible change of Government. According to him, it will be the citizens who provoke this handover with their vote.

The president of the PP also focused part of his speech on problems such as housing, immigration, and the cost of living. He advocated for a migratory policy based on order and integration, called for measures to facilitate access to housing, and denounced the impact of inflation and tax pressure on Spanish families.
