The statements by Gabriel Rufián come after Alberto Núñez Feijóo defended that the emeritus king should return to Spain, following the declassification of 23-F documents. The leader of the PP considered that this context reinforces the institutional figure of Juan Carlos I.
In response, Rufián flatly rejected that possibility and maintained that “criminals, better out than in”, reiterating ERC's critical position towards the monarchy and towards any initiative that facilitates the return of the emeritus.
