The candidate of the Popular Party in Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, speaks about the upcoming elections to the Junta on March 15, where he is convinced of a victory and an increase in votes. He states that he is open to dialogue and negotiation, if the case arises, and his intention is to complete the four years even if another coalition government is formed.

He did so in his last term, in coalition with Vox, despite the break with the far-right party. The clashes in the Cortes of Castilla y León between both formations prevented the possibility of approving budgets for 2025 and 2026. Despite the instability and parliamentary minority, Mañueco decided to exhaust his term and fulfill it on January 19 when he called the new elections.

Mañueco affirms that although he is open to dialogue, he will not reach any agreement with "sanchismo". He does not want the PSOE model, led by Carlos Martínez in the region, to take root in the community. He also spoke about the management of last summer's fires, where he believes there will be no vote of punishment.

The electoral campaign will begin on February 27 and end on March 13. Polls give PP as the favorite, which, with a Vox on the rise, could again be forced to sit down to negotiate a pact, following the wake of the last elections in Extremadura and Aragon.
