The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has declared that the attitude of his voters is not a protest vote but rather abstention. He has blamed this fact for the poor results in the recent elections in Extremadura and Aragon. After a summit on Artificial Intelligence in New Delhi, during his visit to India, he stated that his intention is to call on his electorate and mobilize them for the next general elections in 2027.

It is the first time that Pedro Sánchez makes statements after the bad results of December 21 in Extremadura and February 8 in Aragon. The socialist leader believes that his voters mobilize better for the general and municipal elections than for regional elections. Another element that he considers significant is a change of vote to regionalist parties, as is the case of the Chunta Aragonesista, but he hopes that those votes will return to the PSOE when the presidency of the Government is at stake.
