The one who has been president of Vox in Murcia until now, José Ángel Antelo, states that he does not understand his dismissal and refuses to resign as a deputy of the autonomous government. The controversy arises as a result of the block resignation of five members of the Provincial Executive Committee of the party in Murcia, as a result of a disagreement with Antelo. After this decision, the national leadership is allowed to take the reins of the situation.
“I want to fulfill the commitments I have with society, there are things that need to be finalized from the budgetary agreements and that is what I am thinking about right now,” Antelo stated in an interview on Onda Cero. According to what he related, his idea is to continue because he feels “a responsible person with all the people I have involved, from different parts of society.”
Antelo has detailed that the deputy secretary general of Vox, Montserrat Lluís, urged him last Wednesday to abandon the presidency, offering him in return to maintain his status as a candidate for the 2027 regional elections and the national spokespersonship for Sports. Antelo has insisted that loyalty to the project should not be confused with submission: “I believe one must have a broad perspective, understand that a person has a way of expressing things, but loyalty is telling the truth. Submission is another thing, which is saying yes to everything, without having one's own opinion. Sincerely, I was not born for that.”
