The spokesperson for the Popular Party in congress, Ester Muñoz, is convinced that there will be an understanding between her party and Abascal's party. After the elections in Extremadura and Aragon and the rise of Vox in both, with a coalition government being necessary to avoid repeating elections, Muñoz sees no other option. She alleges that the voters of the PP and the far-right party go to the polls because they do not want the left to govern them.
Muñoz expresses that agreements must be reached and what unites both groups must be sought. Exemplifying this connivance between parties with the bill proposed by Vox, and supported by the PP, to prohibit the burqa and niqab in public spaces.
He also stressed that the Popular Party must present itself as a clear, coherent, and humble party alternative to acknowledge its mistakes. In this way, he lashed out at the mandate of former president Mariano Rajoy: "a stage in which many people did not understand that he forgot about politics and prioritized the economy to, in his opinion, rescue the country."
