The PSOE spokesperson, Montse Mínguez, described this Friday as "incomprehensible" that Junts has announced that it will vote against the two housing decrees that must be validated in the Congress of Deputies, and warned that her party does not give anything up for lost because they will "negotiate until the last minute".
Montse Mínguez stressed that "the PSOE does not give anything up for lost until the last minute", and set the day as decisive, stating that "today is the day of truth".
The socialist leader also acknowledged that the position announced by Junts was "quite disappointing", since, as she explained, the decrees were negotiated with the party led by Carles Puigdemont.
The PSOE avoids talking about elections and looks to the parliamentary vote
Asked if the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, is considering the possibility of dissolving the Cortes and calling elections on November 29, Montse Mínguez again referred to the vote on the two housing decrees in the Lower House.
"The parliamentary groups every week are asking what they are going to do for vulnerable families, what they are going to do with housing, what you are going to do with official protection flats, how you are going to solve the housing issue. Every week there is a trickle of questions about this. Today is the day of truth," said the socialist spokesperson.
Mònica Sales accuses the Government of harming Catalonia
For her part, the president of Junts in the Parliament, Mònica Sales, replied this Friday to the President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, that her party opposes the Government's royal housing decrees because, in her opinion, they "harm" Catalans.
In a message on X, collected by Europa Press, Mònica Sales maintained that the measures "reduce the housing supply, raise prices and allow vulture funds to continue buying and evicting vulnerable families".
"Fewer rental flats. More expensive. And vulture funds, intact. Is this protecting people?", asked the Junts leader, defending her rejection of the decrees.
Crossed reproaches in the housing debate
In addition, Mònica Sales considered it "incomprehensible and irresponsible" that Salvador Illa asks Junts to support "bad decrees that would be a defeat for Catalans, simply, to avoid a defeat for the PSOE".
The Junts spokesperson also asked the President of the Generalitat if he would call the Comuns "irresponsible" for overturning, in the General Policy Debate, their proposal on housing, focused on the joint purchase of housing with the Generalitat for people between 40 and 60 years old.
According to the data provided, the initiative did not prosper in the plenary session as it only received the votes in favor of the socialists and ERC, the abstention of the Comuns, and the votes against Junts, PP, Vox, CUP and AC.
