The railway network registers this Monday a day of generalized alterations due to the strike called by the Railway Union (SF), which will cause the cancellation of 320 trains throughout the country.

The operation of the service will be conditioned by the minimum services set by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, which guarantee the circulation of 262 High-Speed and Long-Distance trains, which represents around 73% of the usual mobility in this segment. In the case of Medium Distance, operations will be reduced to 420 trains, equivalent to 65% of scheduled services, while in Cercanías the service will be limited to 50%, with reinforcements during peak hours that will raise coverage to 75% in sections of higher demand.

Renfe has reported that affected travelers may choose to modify their journeys to travel on the train closest to their scheduled time or manage changes and cancellations without additional cost through its sales channels. This strike call is part of a calendar of mobilizations promoted by the Railway Union, this being the first 24-hour strike day, which will be followed by another scheduled for July 15.

The strike originates from discrepancies regarding the future of Renfe Mercancías, where the union rejects the creation of a joint venture with Medway, a company integrated into the MSC group, and denounces a possible deterioration of the service.
