The Popular Party has requested that the planned meeting with the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, not be limited solely to the deployment of Spanish troops to Ukraine, but rather encompass all matters related to national security and foreign policy. This was communicated by internal PP sources, who explained that the party wants to know in detail Spain's defense commitments, including projected military spending, its breakdown, and the projects involved.

According to these same sources, the PP also demands that Sánchez explain the strategic priorities of his foreign policy, especially after the distrust his management has generated among NATO allies and European partners, as well as ties with countries like Venezuela

The PP has made it clear that it will not support any defense decision in isolation and that its position is to submit both the budget and the military and foreign strategy to a binding vote. "The Government is not in a position to demand blind support from anyone and, of course, the PP will not guarantee it," they stated from the party's internal offices.

Internal PP sources confirmed that, of the dates offered by Moncloa, the one that best suits Feijóo would be next Monday, although final confirmation from Sánchez's team is still pending.
