The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, addressed the citizens of Ceuta this September 12 on the occasion of Ceuta Day to acknowledge the difficulty the city is going through after the events of last July 30 and 31. In an institutional message, the head of the Executive admitted that the State's response may be insufficient for part of the population until normality is fully recovered.

"I understand that for many of you, until normality is restored, the State's response is insufficient," Sánchez acknowledged, assuring that the Government is mobilizing "all resources within our reach" so that Ceuta can regain stability as soon as possible. The president insisted that he is convinced that the city "will emerge stronger from this situation."

Sánchez has set as immediate priorities removing people who remain on the streets, guaranteeing "dignified care for those who have arrived," and restoring to the people of Ceuta "the tranquility they deserve." These measures are complemented by the economic package approved by the Council of Ministers, which includes a mobilization of 300 million euros aimed at supporting businesses and enterprises in the city, strengthening their activity, and contributing to recovery after particularly difficult weeks.

In his message, the president also wanted to acknowledge the attitude of the Ceuta population during the crisis. Sánchez highlighted the "serenity, solidarity, coexistence, and responsibility" demonstrated by the citizens and expressed his confidence that next year Ceuta Day can be celebrated with a city "stronger, more prosperous, and better prepared for the future."
