This Wednesday, July 8, the third vice-president and minister for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Sara Aagesen, denied having received any indication from the Presidency of the Government regarding the direction of loans to companies such as Air Europa or Tubos Reunidos during the pandemic.
Aagasen made these statements at the beginning of her appearance before the Senate's investigative committee on the State Society of Industrial Participations (SEPI), where she explained that she was one of the members of the Aid Fund Management Council until she was appointed third vice-president.
In any case, the minister also specified that she could not be present at the session where the loan to Tubos Reunidos was discussed, and the vote was delegated to the undersecretary of the Ministry for Ecological Transition. Aagasen was also questioned by the Popular Party. They took the opportunity to ask the minister for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge if she was aware, when voting on the loans, of the alleged interest of former minister José Luis Ábalos in the Air Europa operation. In response, Aagasen said she was unaware of it and denied having been contacted by Ábalos's circle.
