Movimiento Sumar has stated it is ready for the early election on November 29 and has presented the new candidacy along with its political allies for the general elections, under the name of Frente Amplio, as a central element for the left.
On its official Bluesky account, the party wrote: “We are ready and we are more. Next November 29, the Frente Amplio is the key to guaranteeing the right to housing, to health, to time, to a dignified life”, in reference to the electoral alliance forged with Izquierda Unida (IU), Comuns and Más Madrid.
Pedro Sánchez activates the early election
The message from Sumar comes after the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, announced this Monday, in an institutional statement at the Palacio de la Moncloa, the call for elections for next November 29.
The early election comes after the rejection by the Congress of Deputies, last Friday, of the two royal decrees with measures to address the housing problem, a vote in which the opposing votes of PP, Vox and Junts prevailed.
After that parliamentary defeat, the President of the Government decided to dedicate the weekend to reflecting on the advisability of going to the polls now, a decision that has ended up leading to the electoral call announced this Monday from Moncloa.
