The actress Gemma Cuervo has passed away at 91 years old in Madrid, as her family has confirmed. The performer, very beloved by the public, was one of the most popular faces of Spanish television thanks to her role as Vicenta in Aquí no hay quien viva.

The actress Gemma Cuervo has passed away at 91 years old in Madrid, as confirmed by her family. The actress leaves behind a long career in theater, cinema, and television that made her one of the most beloved faces by the Spanish public, especially for her role as Vicenta in the popular series 'Aquí no hay quien viva'.

"With enormous sadness we communicate the passing of our mother, the actress Gemma Cuervo, so loved and admired by all", the family has stated in a communiqué sent to the media. They have also informed that the wake will open this Sunday starting at 10:00 AM at the Tanatorio de la Paz, in Tres Cantos.

Throughout more than six decades of career, Cuervo participated in more than 60 theatrical productions and numerous audiovisual projects, which consolidated her as one of the great ladies of theater in Spain. On television, she experienced a new stage of great popularity thanks to the comedies created by the Caballero brothers, which brought her closer to younger generations of viewers.

Born in Barcelona in 1934, she began her career in the Spanish University Theater and debuted as a professional actress in the late 50s with the play 'Harvey', directed by Adolfo Marsillach. Later she was part of the Lope de Vega Company, under the direction of José Tamayo, and also promoted her own stage project alongside actor Fernando Guillén.
