The Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) has annulled this Thursday the decision adopted in 2021 by the European Parliament to withdraw parliamentary immunity from the former president of the Generalitat Carles Puigdemont and former MEPs Toni Comín and Clara Ponsatí, considering that the procedure violated the principle of impartiality. The ruling, which represents a setback for the European Parliament and for those who promoted the suspension of their privileges, comes after years of legal battle in European institutions
