The Congress Bureau has once again withdrawn Vito Quiles' press accreditation. The governing body of the Lower House has agreed to sanction the ultra agitator for one month for interrupting a press conference by the general secretary of Podemos, Ione Belarra, held on February 10, as parliamentary sources have confirmed.
This new measure adds to the sanction he already received on May 26, when he lost his accreditation for three months for recording images in restricted areas of Congress and subsequently disseminating them on social media. In addition, Quiles has other disciplinary proceedings open that, if new serious offenses accumulate, could end with the definitive withdrawal of his credential.
Bertrand Ndongo also loses accreditation
The Bureau has also adopted an identical measure against Bertrand Ndongo, who will remain without accreditation for one month after interrupting another appearance before the media. It is the first time that the recently approved sanctioning regime by Congress to regulate the actions of accredited professionals has been applied to him.
Even before these proceedings were resolved, the House had already preventively suspended the accreditations of both communicators on May 13, a measure that was maintained while the internal investigations continued.
