After the information about the two earthquakes of magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 recorded this Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. local time (00:00 peninsular time in Spain) in Venezuela and which so far have left at least 32 fatalities, sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have reported that José Manuel Albares has communicated with his Venezuelan counterpart, Yvan Gil, to "convey his solidarity" and offer the help of the Military Emergency Unit (UME) and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).
Mi plena solidaridad con el pueblo hermano de Venezuela. @AECID_es está preparada para prestar toda la ayuda de emergencia necesaria.

The call took place "a few minutes" before the minister embarked on a trip to Mexico with King Felipe VI, where both are scheduled to meet with the country's president, Claudia Sheinbaum. However, contact between the two officials did not end there, as they agreed to speak again during the stopover in the Dominican Republic to finalize the assistance Spain could provide.
For his part, Yvan Gil thanked through his social networks the "generous offer of assistance" made by the Spanish Government in response to the emergency caused by the earthquakes.
