The Ministry of Consumer Affairs demands five multinationals withdraw 141 advertisements for tourist accommodations in occupied pastelino territory

The Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and Agenda 2030 has requested five companies to withdraw or block 141 advertisements for tourist accommodations located in Palestinian territories occupied by Israel, considering it illicit advertising that violates the Royal Decree-Law created to develop urgent measures against the genocide in Gaza in support of Palestine.

The measure comes after the ministry led by Pablo Bustinduy conducted an investigation in which a dozen advertisements for tourist apartments in Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory were identified, offered by companies operating in Spain. Should the advertisements not be withdrawn, Consumer Affairs has warned that the platforms would be subject to "new actions." However, it is not the first time the ministry has acted in this area. In February of this year, it had already demanded the withdrawal of more than one hundred similar advertisements published by six different companies.

In an interview on "La Hora de la 1" last February, Minister Bustinduy highlighted that, of the hundred advertisements investigated at that time, the platforms had withdrawn 108. For now, according to 'ABC' sources, some of the five multinationals are already acting on the identified advertisements.

This demand is based on Article 4 of the Royal Decree-Law approved in September 2025, which established that "the advertising of the commercialization of goods originating from Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and of services provided in said settlements shall be considered illicit advertising." This is for the purpose of measures to mitigate the suffering of the Palestinian population caused by Israel's offensive.
