The judicial investigation into the serious train accident that occurred last Sunday in Adamuz (Córdoba), which has left at least 39 dead and dozens injured, will be handled by Section Civil and Instruction nº 2 of the Montoro Court, as reported by the Superior Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA). This court has taken charge of the proceedings as it was on duty at the time the events occurred.
In addition to the criminal investigation, the forensic medical and scientific police protocol for mass casualty incidents has been activated, which includes the opening of a Data Integration Center to coordinate victim identification and expedite information to their families.
So far, authorities have indicated that dozens of people remain hospitalized in various health centers in the region, and work is underway to remove the crashed trains to facilitate the investigation into the causes of the accident, which are still not fully known.
