The National Police has increased security and deployed fences at the access to the Congress of Deputies after the announcement by social groups camped in the Puerta del Sol that they will go to the vicinity of the Lower House to demand the approval of the housing decrees.

The police operation has concentrated in the Carrera de San Jerónimo, at the height of Cedaceros street, where agents have installed fences and reinforced the presence of personnel and vans between that point and the Puerta del Sol, where the encampment of social groups continues.

Plenary session in the Lower House to validate two decrees

The Congress hosts this Friday the plenary session to validate the two housing decrees approved on Tuesday by the Council of Ministers, although they will foreseeably be rejected after Junts has announced that it will vote “no”, a position that PP and Vox had already announced previously.

In addition to the reinforcement in the Carrera de San Jerónimo, agents have also cut off access to the Congress of Deputies from the Paseo del Prado, as part of the operation deployed in the center of Madrid in anticipation of mobilizations around the parliamentary headquarters.
