“Death threats cannot be allowed in a democracy,” stated López, underlining that any dialogue or debate must start from the unequivocal condemnation of aggressions and threats, and that otherwise, "we are in the jungle".
López has recalled that the protection of professionals and the defense of freedom of expression are fundamental principles of any public institution, and has insisted that respect for these values is essential to guarantee a safe and democratic environment, both for RTVE workers and for the citizens who receive the information.
