The deputy spokesperson for the PSOE in Congress and party spokesperson, Montse Mínguez, criticized this Saturday the actions of the PP leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, assuring that his political proposal is based on “blockade and cuts” and also accusing him of aligning himself with “the lords of war” due to his commitment, as she indicated, to allocate 5% of GDP to NATO.
During statements to the media, Mínguez has pointed out: "The month of April begins and what we know are the two great truths that Mr. Feijóo uniquely offers should he come to power. The first is gridlock, his inability to form a Government. And the second, cuts".
The socialist leader has also warned that support for PP and Vox “only leads to institutional gridlock,” citing the situation in Extremadura, Aragon, and Castilla y León as an example. "Four months to form a Government, four months to have an investiture in Extremadura with the gridlock that implies", she stated.
Likewise, he has recalled that the deadline that Feijóo himself set to reach agreements in April has been met, referring to “those right-far-right agreements that should make all our hair stand on end”, and has maintained that currently there are “three paralyzed autonomous communities”.
In this context, Mínguez has criticized that, while the war in Iran is developing, the regional parliaments are not focused on approving measures to help affected families. According to what he has said, PP and Vox are dedicated to “dividing up the seats”, “discussing” and “blocking those institutions”. "So they are not a government alternative, but the only thing Mr. Feijóo offers to citizens, to Spaniards, is blocking", he added.
The socialist spokesperson has also assured that PP and Vox show little interest in citizens' problems, stating that "never ever have they voted in favor" of the decrees approved to alleviate the consequences of Covid, the war in Ukraine and the war in Iran.
"More than 30 social decrees are what the Government has put on the table to mitigate these negative effects and they have always opposed them", he indicated. In this regard, he mentioned the latest decree related to the war in the Middle East, for which the PP opted for abstention, highlighting that it includes 5,000 million euros, 80 measures and the protection of “20 million households” and “3 million companies”. For this reason, he reproached PP and Vox for voting “with their backs to the citizens”.
Finally, Mínguez has stated that in the communities where PP and Vox govern, "no anti-crisis measures plan to protect the social majority" has been approved, in contrast to what, according to what he has defended, the PSOE does carry out in the territories where it governs or provides support.
