The Supreme Court has set for next April 28 the statement of the former Minister of Transport José Luis Ábalos within the framework of the investigation into the mask contracts awarded during the pandemic. On the same day, also summoned are Koldo García, former advisor to the former minister, and the businessman Víctor de Aldama.

The case investigates possible irregularities in the awarding of contracts for the purchase of sanitary material in the first months of the COVID-19 crisis. The high court seeks to clarify the role of the different individuals involved in the intermediation and management of these contracts.

Koldo García is considered a key figure in the case, having been an advisor to Ábalos during his time at the head of the Ministry of Transport.
