Increpan en directo a un periodista de TVE en el programa 'Malas Lenguas' mientras trataba de hacer su trabajo en la concentración de Madrid

The various concentrations that took place yesterday in different parts of Spain gathered thousands of people and mostly proceeded peacefully. However, that image and that feeling were going to change in the capital, in Madrid. Some ultra groups took advantage of the crowd and the mobilizations to bring out their racist discourse, in addition to harassing journalists who sought to do their job, and seeking confrontation with the Police.

A possible trigger for this situation could be that in Madrid, three calls coincided at a short distance. The Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces had gathered 50,000 people in Cibeles according to the Government Delegation and 150,000 according to the City Council. In front of Congress, hundreds of Ceutians gathered under the slogan 'Ceuta unites us', supported by thousands of attendees. And in Callao, several hundred people responded to a call against racism.

Unfortunately, in Cibeles, the harassment of journalists could not be stopped. It all started when a group of people surrounded professionals from Radio Televisión Española (RTVE) and La Sexta shouting "television, manipulation" and "Spanish press, manipulative." The pushes followed, along with attempts to remove the microphones, until the authorities intervened, forming a cordon to remove several reporters from that area.

Jesús Póveda found himself the protagonist of a moment of harassment and verbal abuse towards him while trying to do his job. He reported live for 'Malas Lenguas', on La 1 of TVE, how the attitude changed as soon as the ultras recognized the logo of the public channel. The journalist found himself surrounded by people who were verbally abusing him and trying to bother him while he was live, so much so that even an individual approached a few centimeters and confronted the journalist, leaving a very violent image. The pushes began and the Police had to intervene. "We were only trying to inform," he summarized after describing a "very violent" episode.

Given this, the president of RTVE, José Pablo López, later pointed to Jesús Poveda, from 'Malas Lenguas', to the 'Mañanero 360' team represented by Mikel Etxarri, and to Informativos reporter Jesús Navarro among the professionals harassed during the day in Madrid, Ceuta, and Barcelona. "These are not isolated cases," he warned.
