The link between Santiago Abascal and Viktor Orbán

Santiago Abascal, leader of Vox, has become involved in European politics by forming part of the alliance “Patriots for Europe”, a group that seeks to unite far-right and conservative parties that defend the autonomy of their countries against the European Union. This alliance is led by Viktor Orbán, Prime Minister of Hungary, and Abascal has repeatedly shown his affinity with Orbán in both values and political strategies.Viktor Orbán has consistently and constantly expressed his stance against what he calls the “LGBT ideology” in society and politics, defending laws and policies that promote the traditional family as the basis of Hungarian society. His government has promoted restrictions on education about sexual diversity in schools and has limited the visibility of LGBT people in media and campaigns, presenting these measures as a defense of Hungary's national and cultural values. These positions coincide with Santiago Abascal's conservative vision, reinforcing the ideological affinity between both leaders
