Gertrudis Alcázar, personal secretary of the former President of the Government José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, appears this Monday in the Senate within the framework of the investigation commission on the deficiencies and alleged irregularities in the management of the State Society of Industrial Participations (SEPI).
Alcázar has been indicted by the judge of the National Court, José Luis Calama for her alleged involvement in crimes of influence peddling and money laundering in the Plus Ultra case, and appears today before the Upper House at the request of the Popular Party, which promotes her summons within the parliamentary investigations related to the environment of the former socialist president.
In the same session, the appearance of the former Police Commissioner Jesús María Gómez, police commissioner at Barajas airport in January 2020, when the plane of the then Venezuelan vice president Delcy Rodríguez landed, is also scheduled. The PP plans to question him about the circumstances of that arrival in Spain and the actions of the authorities in that episode, as well as about his appearance in the proceedings of the 'Plus Ultra case', where the possible existence of “favors and gratuities” in the alleged investigated plot was pointed out.
