The 103 jewels that were found in the safe of the office of former socialist president José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, which according to his spokesperson Luis Arroyo, would be valued between "30,000 and 50,000 euros" and which came from "inheritances and gifts", have already received the appraisal requested by judge José Luis Calama who is investigating the 'Plus Ultra case'. According to the Ansorena jewelry store in charge of carrying out the work, the pieces are estimated at 1.3 million euros

In this regard, Arroyo has spoken through his X account asking for "forgiveness" for "having misled about the value of the jewels" and has clarified that the former president "will give explanations". Thus, he wrote: "I apologize in my own name for having misled about the value of President Zapatero's jewels. He will give explanations to the judge, also about that. I always try to inform with honesty and truthfulness. I do not conceive communication in any other way. Thank you." 

Judge Calama ordered the appraisal to "determine their nature, authenticity and economic replacement value", also, to know the manufacturer, the hallmark and the manufacturing date. All this, the magistrate specified, without prejudice to a subsequent expert appraisal that covers other analytical data of interest with respect to the jewels.

At the time of the search, Zapatero's secretary, Gertrudis Alcázar, assured that these jewels were part of an "inheritance" and "travel gifts" from the socialist leader's wife, Sonsoles Espinosa. The safe in which stone necklaces, bracelets, bangles or watches were found.
