Hugo Pereira sentences Ayuso in 'Mañaneros 360' after the exclusive from 'ElConstitucional.es': "She could have a serious legal problem"

Hugo Pereira has analyzed this Thursday in 'Mañaneros 360', the TVE program, the exclusive published by 'ElConstitucional.es' about the complaint filed with the Provincial Prosecutor's Office of Madrid for the purchase of the luxury penthouse in Chamberí. The director of this newspaper has warned that Isabel Díaz Ayuso and her Government could face "a serious judicial problem, beyond the political one", if the Public Ministry decides to investigate the operation.

The complaint requests that proceedings be opened regarding the acquisition and subsequent sale of the property by Planifica Madrid, the public company dependent on the regional Executive. "Right now it is already in the Prosecutor's Office. The Prosecutor's Office has, so to speak, the hot potato," explained Pereira, who has placed the next decision in the hands of the provincial body.

The document focuses on the public need that justified the purchase of the penthouse for 6.3 million euros, initially intended to house a temporary office of the Madrid Presidency. After the operation became known, Ayuso's Government announced that it would sell the property. Pereira has recalled that Planifica Madrid manages public money and is subject to the Public Sector Contracts Law.

"The key question is what was the real public need for that luxury penthouse," he said. The complaint asks to verify if there were previous reports and studies that supported the acquisition, who promoted both operations, and if the purchase and sale could have caused harm to public coffers. The Prosecutor's Office must now decide whether to open proceedings or dismiss the complaint.
