C. Tangana has burst into the political debate with a series of messages on Instagram in which he questions the strategy of the parties to the left of the PSOE. After speaking out about Gabriel Rufián, the artist has responded directly to Pablo Iglesias, founder of Podemos, with a criticism of the lack of understanding between progressive parties.
The exchange comes after Iglesias analyzed the electoral strategy of Podemos and ERC and defended the need to reach agreements between the different left-wing forces. C. Tangana's response was not long in coming. "I'm going to try a more conciliatory tone to see if you don't put half of Spain in the X coffee drinkers' bag," he wrote before addressing the politician with an ironic "Dear Pablo."
C. Tangana defends Gabriel Rufián and attacks Podemos
One of the singer's main reproaches has to do with the possibility of Rufián participating in a broader candidacy to favor an alliance between progressive forces. Iglesias had questioned whether the ERC spokesperson would have to leave his party to do so, a position with which C. Tangana openly disagrees.

"Betrayal of your party should be mandatory if what's on the other side is a far-right government," affirms the artist, who places the need to stop that scenario above the internal loyalties of each formation.
His criticism is also directed at Podemos' strategy. "Podemos' strategic move to gain political profit from the people's desperation, we understood it from minute one," he writes. He then questions the ability of its leaders to reach agreements: "What we don't understand is that the leadership is so poor that you are not capable of bringing people together."
These words follow another comment that C. Tangana had previously published in response to the debate about Rufián. In that intervention, he defended that the ERC spokesperson did not intend to compete with other formations for votes, but rather to contribute to preventing a Vox government. "Rufián was not going to win votes from a party, he was going to try to stop a Vox government," he affirmed, before summarizing his criticism of particular interests with two words: "Pure ego."

The unexpected question about Ada Colau and Marc Giró
The message addressed to Iglesias ends with a reference to Ada Colau. "Can you explain to me what Ada Colau is doing playing ping-pong with Marc Giró?", asks the singer, thus introducing the former mayor of Barcelona in the middle of the political discussion.
The allusion refers to Colau's appearance with Marc Giró on television, where both played ping-pong while conversing. The reference broadens the scope of C. Tangana's criticism, which questions both Podemos' strategy and the ability of different left-wing figures to build a common alternative.
The artist's intervention comes amid a discussion about how progressive formations should run in the upcoming elections. With his messages, C. Tangana focuses on one of the central issues of the debate: to what extent parties are willing to set aside their differences to reach agreements.
