Comedian Héctor de Miguel, known as Quequé, was released this Thursday after being arrested the previous night in Salamanca in compliance with a search and arrest warrant issued by a Madrid court. This was reported by the High Court of Justice of Castilla y León (TSJCyL).
After spending the night in police custody, Quequé appeared before the magistrate of Plaza 1 of the Instruction Section of the Court of Instance of Salamanca, who ordered his release. The comedian exercised his right not to testify, although he provided an address for future notifications, remaining at the disposal of the Madrid court that is handling the proceedings.
The investigation is related to an alleged crime of disobedience. According to judicial sources cited by EFE, the origin of the procedure lies in a sentence from the Provincial Court of Madrid that obliged the comedian to compensate journalist Alfonso Rojo with 41,800 euros for an illegitimate interference with his right to honor. Although the amount would have already been paid, the court considers that he did not correctly fulfill another of the imposed obligations: to read the heading and the ruling of the sentence on his program and on his social media profiles.
In addition to this case, Quequé has another judicial procedure open. Last March, the opening of an oral trial against him was agreed upon for an alleged crime of coercion against the president of Christian Lawyers, Polonia Castellanos, a case in which the Prosecutor's Office requests two years in prison and compensation of 6,000 euros. On the contrary, in May 2025, the Provincial Court of Madrid archived another investigation for an alleged hate crime, as it did not find a criminal offense in statements made by the comedian on his radio program.
