The Provincial Court of Seville has ratified the sentence imposed on the actress María León, who will have to pay a total fine of 5,700 euros for a crime of resistance to authority and another minor offense of assault, following the incident she suffered with the Local Police of Seville that occurred in October 2022.
The court has dismissed the appeals filed by the prosecution, which sought a harsher sentence for an attack against authority. The magistrates consider that the proven facts —including the scuffle and the blows delivered to an officer— fit the crime of resistance and do not reach sufficient severity to be classified as an attack.
The economic sanction is divided into 4,800 euros for the crime of resistance and 900 euros for the minor injuries caused to the agent. In addition, León must compensate the police with 100 euros for the injuries suffered.
With this resolution, the sentence is confirmed in its essential terms and the imposition of a prison sentence is discarded, thus closing the judicial path of the case at this instance.
