Sevilla lights up ‘El alumbrao’: the Real lights up and the April Fair officially begins

The Real de la Feria de Sevilla lived last night the awaited moment of El alumbrao, the act that marks the official start of the Feria de Abril and that once again gathered thousands of people around the entrance of the fairgrounds.

With the lighting of thousands of light bulbs, the Real was completely illuminated, giving way to an iconic scene in which streets, casetas and lanterns are filled with light and color. The moment was received amidst applause, emotion and the countdown shared by the attendees, who celebrated the start of one of the most important weeks of the Sevillian calendar.

From that moment on, the fairgrounds come alive with the opening of booths, the start of family and friends gatherings, and the festive atmosphere that characterizes the April Fair. Music, traditional costumes, and gastronomy become the protagonists of a few days in which Seville is completely transformed.
