Queen Letizia has once again placed public health at the center of her institutional agenda on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day. In a video recorded in the gardens of the Palacio de la Zarzuela, the Queen has launched a direct message without nuances in which she has warned about the serious consequences of tobacco consumption and the rise of new devices among young people.

During her speech, Letizia has insisted that smoking continues to be one of the main causes of illness and mortality in the world, recalling that the effects of smoke not only affect smokers, but also those who live with them. With a firm and didactic tone, she has underlined that health warnings are not symbolic, but a reality backed by alarming data.

The Queen has also focused on vapers, electronic cigarettes and other emerging products, warning of the false perception of harmlessness that exists among adolescents. As she has pointed out, these devices contain addictive substances and can generate dependence, which is why she has called for greater social awareness and special protection for the youngest.

In her message, Letizia has resorted to a clear and close style, characteristic of her oratory, to close with a forceful idea that summarizes her plea: the urgent need to continue insisting on prevention. A call that reinforces her role as one of the most active institutional figures in health awareness campaigns in Spain.
