The new Formula 1 track in Madrid, known as Madring, took one of its most symbolic steps towards its official debut this Tuesday with the hoisting of the largest Spanish flag in the country. The event was held on the circuit's track, built in the vicinity of IFEMA, during the official presentation of the future Spanish Grand Prix, scheduled for September.

The main protagonist of the day was Carlos Sainz, ambassador of the project, who toured part of the circuit with organizers and authorities before participating in the central ceremony. At the third curve of the track, the national flag was hoisted while the anthem played, in an image that served as a symbol of the birth of the new sporting event in the capital.

Sainz highlighted during the event the special character of the circuit, which he defined as a "different" track due to its combination of urban areas and more open sections. The Williams driver also stressed that the design offers "everything," with fast and slow curves that could make it one of the most striking venues on the Formula 1 calendar.

"For me, it's a source of pride, an honor, exciting. The circuit presentation event with all the fans, driving the F1 through these streets filled me with enormous pride. I will be able to compete in a GP that is twenty minutes from my house, I will be able to sleep in my house from Wednesday to Sunday," the driver said very gratefully.

The presentation also allowed showing the progress of the works, with the asphalt already completed and the main structures of the circuit in an advanced phase. With this event, Madrid fully enters the countdown to host a Grand Prix that, according to the organization, seeks to consolidate itself as one of the key events of the world championship in the coming years.
