It is not ruled out a meeting between Papa León XIV and Bad Bunny in Madrid during the visit of the Pontiff

The cardinal archbishop of Madrid and vice-president of the Spanish Episcopal Conference, José Cobo, has indicated that a possible meeting between Pope Papa León XIV and the Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny during the Pontiff's visit to Spain cannot be ruled out.

The Pope's trip is scheduled between June 6 and 12 and will coincide in Madrid with a series of concerts by the singer, who has several performances scheduled in the capital. In this context, Cobo has stressed that “surprises are surprises”, without confirming any official event.

Although there is no closed agenda at the moment that includes that meeting, the ecclesiastical representative has left open the possibility of coincidences within the institutional or cultural events planned during the visit. In that context, he has reflected on the idea that they are not antagonistic elements, but cultural expressions that can coexist, going so far as to point out that “they do not oppose, but create bridges”. 

It has also been pointed out that, if the opportunity arose, the Pope could receive different personalities during his visit, underscoring his usual willingness to hold meetings with different profiles.

The coincidence has generated media expectation by placing in the same city one of the most relevant figures of the Catholic Church and one of the most influential artists of urban music worldwide, in an agenda that will combine religious acts and institutional meetings in different parts of Spain.
