Rosalía continues to accumulate accolades at a difficult-to-match speed. The Catalan artist has been honored with the National Prize for Contemporary Music 2026, an award granted by the Ministry of Culture that recognizes the artistic transcendence of LUX, her latest album, released in 2025. The jury has defined the work as an "ambitious, innovative, and transformative" proposal and has highlighted its ability to expand the creative limits of music.
The recognition comes at an especially sweet moment for the singer. The jury has also valued her international career, her search for her own sound language, and her ability to combine avant-garde and heritage, in addition to her contribution to the global projection of Spanish music and her commitment to collaborations with other artists. The prize is endowed with 30,000 euros and annually recognizes a career or a particularly relevant work within contemporary music.

But national recognition is not the only great honor Rosalía has marked on her calendar. Next October 22, she will receive the Billboard Hall of Fame Award during the Billboard Latin Music Awards gala in Miami. The award recognizes a career marked by musical innovation, a unique artistic vision, and an influence that has transcended genres, languages, and borders.
The Billboard distinction also makes Rosalía the second Spanish artist to enter the Billboard Latin Music Awards Hall of Fame, after Rocío Dúrcal, who received this recognition in 1999. The Catalan artist will receive the tribute while LUX continues to make its mark in the United States: the album achieved five number ones on the Billboard charts and the artist is among the nominees for this edition.
And while the tributes keep coming, LUX also keeps Rosalía at the forefront of the Latin industry. The Catalan artist has accumulated 8 Latin Grammy nominations for this work, consolidating the album's impact across the Atlantic. The nominations add to a season in which the artist has once again positioned herself among the most prominent names in international music and in which LUX continues to garner recognition from both critics and the industry.
And Rosalía does not intend to disappear from the international spotlight after closing the LUX era. The Catalan artist has two important television appearances in the United States: today, October 7, she will visit The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and on October 10 she will be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, where she will share the program with host Shane Gillis. Although both appearances still feature LUX as the protagonist, her presence on these two showcases of American television fuels expectations about what she is preparing for her next stage. In fact, she has already left the tour behind and everything indicates that these months of transition could serve to present new projects, collaborations, or even give the first clues of her next musical move.
The new National Award thus adds to an especially outstanding 2026 for Rosalía. In May, she was already the great protagonist of the Spanish Music Academy Awards, where she won eight awards for LUX, including artist of the year, album of the year, and song of the year for 'La Perla'. With the recognition from the Ministry of Culture and her upcoming entry into the Billboard Hall of Fame, Rosalía once again occupies an unusual place: that of an artist simultaneously recognized by Spanish cultural institutions and by the international music industry. LUX thus becomes one of the great pillars of a stage in which her music continues to expand borders.
