The Latin Recording Academy has announced the nominations for the 27th edition of the Latin GRAMMYs, which will be held on November 12 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The list once again shows a notable Spanish presence, with Rosalía, Bad Gyal, Belén Aguilera, Violeta, Jorge Drexler, Alejandro Sanz, Leiva, Pablo Alborán, Quevedo, and numerous names linked to flamenco among the candidates.

In the Spanish female category, Rosalía, Bad Gyal, Belén Aguilera, and Violeta are among the nominees. Rosalía once again stands among the big names of the edition with eight nominations for LUX, while Bad Gyal adds two and Belén Aguilera and Violeta receive one nomination each.

Rosalía appears in some of the main categories of the night. LUX competes for Album of the Year, while La Perla, with Yahritza y Su Esencia, is nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Pop Song. The Catalan artist is also nominated for Best Alternative Music Album, Best Song in Portuguese Language, Best Short Form Music Video, and Best Engineered Album.

Bad Gyal, for her part, gets two nominations for her work in urban music, while Belén Aguilera is nominated in the category of Best Packaging Design for Anela.

Edgar Barrera leads the nominations

Beyond the Spanish representation, the name that tops the nominations for this edition is Edgar Barrera, with ten nominations. Following him, with seven nominations each, are CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, Jorge Drexler, Karol G, and Rosalía. Silvana Estrada and Mon Laferte add six nominations, while Milo J gets five.

The Album of the Year category brings together some of the most important names of the edition: Anitta with EQUILIBRIVM, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso with FREE SPIRITS, Jorge Drexler with Taracá, Silvana Estrada with Vendrán Suaves Lluvias, Karol G with Tropicoqueta, Mon Laferte with FEMME FATALE, Carín León with MUDA, Milo J with La Vida Era Más Corta, Rawayana with ¿Dónde Es El After? and Rosalía with LUX.

In Record of the Year, Ha Ha, by CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso; ¿Cómo Se Ama?, by Jorge Drexler; Dime, by Silvana Estrada; O Amor Nos Encontrou, by Loulu Gilberto; Coleccionando Heridas, by Karol G and Marco Antonio Solís; Femme Fatale, by Mon Laferte; Desde Que Te Tengo, by Carín León; Niño, by Milo J; La Perla, by Rosalía with Yahritza y Su Esencia; and Alma, by Elena Rose, face off.

Violeta joins a very special list from Operación Triunfo

Among the Spanish candidacies also appears Violeta, who has achieved a nomination for III. Ojalá! - Bronquio Remix, together with Bronquio, in the category of Best Electronic Music Performance.

Her candidacy also has a special meaning due to her origin: since the return of Operación Triunfo in 2017, Aitana, Amaia and Alba Reche were the only women from the program who had achieved a Latin Grammy nomination. Violeta now joins this reduced group and expands the talent show's presence at internationally recognized awards.

More Spanish representation

Spanish presence does not end with the four female artists. Also present are Alejandro Sanz, Pablo Alborán, Leiva and Quevedo, in addition to names linked to flamenco such as Yerai Cortés, Kase.O, Mercedes Luján, Mayte Martín and José Mercé, among others.

Leiva adds two nominations, while Alejandro Sanz and Pablo Alborán appear in the Best Contemporary Pop Album category. Spanish representation also extends to technical, design and production categories, which means the country has a presence in different areas of the music industry.

New names and a very diverse list

The Latin GRAMMYs also reserve space for emerging artists. In Best New Artist appear Delilah, FABIÁN, Loulu Gilberto, Arath Herce, Macario Martínez, maye, Sofia Monroy, Kendall Peña, Dora Sanches, ARIA VEGA and Zeca Veloso.

The 2026 edition also incorporates a wide variety of styles and scenes: pop, urban, rock, alternative music, salsa, cumbia, flamenco, Mexican music, jazz, Brazilian music, electronic and classical music. The Latin Recording Academy has precisely highlighted the diversity and evolution of Latin music reflected in this edition.

The ceremony will take place on November 12, 2026, in Las Vegas. It will be then when Rosalía, Bad Gyal, Belén Aguilera, Violeta and the rest of the nominees will find out if they convert their candidacies into new Latin Grammys.
